Welcome to BALANCE and DIZZINESS PHYSICAL THERAPY!
Falls are a major problem for older adults and for people who have a neurological diagnosis. One-third of older adults fall each year. Balance issues are the most likely cause of a fall. Older adults and people who have a neurological diagnosis may find that they have balance issues from short or long term impairments.
There are balance tests that can determine what is causing the balance problem and to determine risk for falls. A balance exercise program individualized to the person's needs can be created and monitored as the person improves.

Dizziness is the third most common complaint that doctors hear. A common cause of dizziness is a diagnosis called Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV. A symptom of BPPV is a spinning sensation called vertigo, which may be caused by looking up, looking over a shoulder or rolling over in bed. Vertigo may only last for a few minutes, but can also linger all day.
Treatment for BPPV is successful in 89% of patients in only 1-3 visits. People who have severe dizziness may need an overall balance program.
